4/28-The Vanguards this evening honored their seniors before the game, and the seniors honored their teammates and fans by recording their 11th win of the 2009 season defeating West Chester Rustin 15-6. The win is the Vanguards fifth straight, and their sixth-straight in the ChesMont league. Congratulations to all of the seniors!

4/27- The Vanguards today picked up there 10th win of the 2009 season, defeating the visiting Kennett Blue Demons 14-8. The offense had six different goal scorers, with the defense holding the Kennett shooters to one goal during the first half. The win moves Sun Valley to 10-3 overall, and 5-1 in the ChesMont league.
Goal Scorers: Bobby Clemens (3g 5a), Donnie Krausse (4g 1a), Frankie Jackson (1g 4a), Matt Remner (4g), Sam Maldou (1g), and Nick Barton (1g). Brett Macaulay, Joe Bender, and Kyle Lord all recorded assists.

4/23- Trailing 8-7 at the end of the 1st half to an extremely athletic West Chester Henderson squad, the Vanguards rallied early in the second half to score 10 goals and secure the 17-12 victory. SV's attackman led the way, with Bobby Clemens recording 2 goals and 9 assists, beating his former school record set last year against Delco Christian. The defensive held the Henderson shooters to 4 goals in the second half, with longpoles Kyle Lord, Zach Hopkins and Josh Lovelace playing shut down defense all game. The win moves the Vanguards to 4-1 in the league, and 9-3 overall.

4/22- The Vanguards received their second straight win on Tuesday, defeating the Cardinal O'Hara Lions 11-6. The Vanguards were lead offensively by senior midfidler Donnie Krausse (3g 1a). Sam Maldou and Matt Remner were solid facing off, winning 12 of 14 draws.

4/17- Captalizing on an 11-2 first half lead, the Vanguards were able to move up in the ChesMont standings last night by defeating Avon Grove 14-9. With that win, the team moves to 3-1 league and 7-3 overall.

4/8- A strong first quarter from Archbishop Wood was too much for the visiting Vanguards, as the team fell 14-5. The loss puts SV at 6-2. Midfielder Donnie Krausse led the offense with 2 goals 1 assist, with goalie Tyler Brun recording 13 saves. |

4/5- The Vanguards used an 8-2 half time lead to defeat the visiting Archbishop Ryan Raiders last night 12-6. The win marks the Vanguards sixth straight in nine days. Junior attackman Bobby Clemens recorded 1 goal and 6 assists, and also notched his 100th career point on the ninth goal of the game.

4/3- Behind a solid defensive performance, the Vanguards today were able to pick up their second win in the Chest-Mont League defeating Bishop Shanahan 15--7. The win puts the Vanguards at 5-1 overall, with 5-straight wins.

4/2- The Vanguards extended their win streak on Wednesday by defeating the the visiting Monsignor Bonner Friars 18-2. The offense receive goals from 10 different shooters, with Zac Gremminger (2g), Nick Barton (1g), Brian Gelnett (1g 1a) and Matt Sarnocinski (1g) scoring their first ever varsity goals!
